Nora: my 16 years older than me, sister. I miss her still. She loved to sing and the-earliest-to-arrive wildflowers and listening to your stories. Nora approached life with wonder, and she knew how to giggle. She was a quiet force: in her fierce and steadfast social activism, in her way of standing back to notice how to be helpful. It would be NORA who went down into the basement to bring up the box of toys for the shy child, the restless one, the one who otherwise was about to get into trouble. She will forever be a grand woman to me.
