My Mom was fiercely independent and loving and passed away last year at the age of 97. Her legacy, as the heart and soul of our extended family will continue in her strong, independent daughters, granddaughters and great granddaughters, and of course, all their partners, children and families as well. She taught me to care about people and politics and to invest myself in creating positive change. She was resilient and caring and not accepting of injustices, while embracing inclusiveness and equity. Her memory will always be a blessing for me and my family. In particular, her strength and resilience lives on in my daughter who is managing her career, raising children and meeting the special needs of her child with love and grace. Laurie R
